Kapalua, Maui possesses a charm and splendor unlike anything you'd discover on the crowded, busy streets of Lahaina. Sparkling seascapes lined with emerald jungle gives way to an unexpected backdrop of mountainous woodland pine trees. In a land full of contrasts, Kapalua has just enough heat to allow the hearty Keawe tree to sink its roots deep into the rich soil. Shown here with the West Maui Mountain Range in the distance, a strong hardwood has fallen under a windswept sky. Past its prime yet, still rife with the exuberance of its surroundings, the juxtaposed color composition inspired me. 24x30, Oil. |
